The Remix According To Wax Doctor (2012 Future Vintage Vaults)

As I was looking back upon already published FVV collections I realised we didn't have a real drum'n'bass artist in this series yet. To correct this, I've spent last weeks waist-deep in d'n'b remixes and here comes the first result: a small collection of remixes by my favourite producer Paul Saunders, better known as Wax Doctor. To me, his sound is a substance of intelligent d'n'b - complex breakbeats, funky basslines, bent DX7 pads and cool samples. All these remixes originate between 1995 and 1998; the best era of d'n'b in my humble opinion.

01 The Ballistic Brothers-Come On (Wax Doctor's Simon Templar Remix)
02 Rob D-Clubbed To Death (Wax Doctor Totally Waxed Mix)
03 DJ Pulse-Let You In (Wax Doctor Remix)
04 St. Germain-Alabama Blues (Wax Doctor Mix)
05 Model 500-I Wanna Be There (Wax Doctor Remix)
06 Loophole-A New Loophole (Wax Doctor Remix)
07 Frank De Wulf-Drums In A Grip (Wax Doctor Mix)
08 Dave Angel-This Is Disco (Wax Doctor Remix)
09 Friends From Rio-Maracutudo (Wax Doctor Remix)
10 Wax Doctor-Kid Caprice (Funk Mix)

If you like this FVV release and crave for more, you shouldn't sleep on this fine mix by Blick that contains many rare tracks not present here.
