Hefner - Level Green CDS (2000 Inertia)

Lee Jones AKA Hefner has been releasing cinematic downtempo breaks on London based Inertia label since 1997. This single comes from his only album Residue which I'm going to post as soon as I find it. I contains two alt takes of this sweet song plus remixes by Blue States (of ESL fame) and Only Child (see below).

If anybody has the two volumes of Sounds Like Inertia label compilation or Victor Malloy's debut album The Musings Of Monsieur Malloy (320 or lossless) please share with us.

Bim Sherman - Solid As A Rock CDS (1996 Mantra)

One more On-U Sound/Perfecto collaboration on this single from Miracle, the accoustic dub session Bim Sherman recorded shortly before his untimely death. This fragile but strong album has never left my playlist since then, as well as the remix collection It Must Be A Dream, which i'm going to post soon. The single contains original version plus three mixes by Steve Osborne.

This track comes from Emotional Hooligan, the first and best album by Gary Clail, the enfant terrible of the UK dub scene. Contains great remix by Paul Oakenfold & Steve Osborne AKA Perfecto, and False Leader, another fine track from the album.

One more single from the short-lived Arthrob label comes from Glamorous Hooligan second album Naked City Soundtrax and includes Red Snapper and Overseer remixes. Morcheeba - Tape Loop CDS (1995 Indochina)

Third single from the classic 1996 debut album Who Can You Trust? by Diabolical Godfrey Brothers and Skye Edwards AKA Morcheeba. I still love the instrumental track On The Rhodes Again. It almost hurts how brilliant they were compared to their later works.

Leftfield - Release The Pressure CDS (1995 Hard Hands)

Another great track from Leftism. I got little overdosed by the original version since the track's intro became an anthem of 02 mobile operator but the single contains also remarkable 4-piece Release suite; a must-hear for all Leftfield fans.

This collaboration of Leftfield and ex-Curve singer Toni Halliday is one of the best moments on the classic Leftism album from 1995. The single contains three versions of Original plus off-album track Filter Fish.

Ingrid Schroeder - Paint You Blue CDS (1996)

Another Ingrid but the same problem with informations. She used to be a session singer with bands like The Waterboys (sic!) then she'd met the right people and released great debut album Bee Charmer before female trip hop became a cliche. It was produced by 90's icons like Goldie, Howie B and DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill fame. This CDS contains two versions by Muggs and two chilled drum'n'bass trips by Peshay. Recommended listening!

Lucky People Center - Sundance CDS (1995)

The third swedish piece of plastic for today is Sundance, a single from the only album Interference by short-lived techno project Lucky People Center. IMHO it's not the best song from the album but whatever... Accompanied by remixes by another swedish techno crew Ascendence and Wild Planet of Warp fame.

Softroom, the second single from The Great Blondino, treated by Ceasefire and Mekon; both from the famous Wall Of Sound stable; plus Peanut Planet (great swedish drum'n'bass project, unfortunately ceased to exit after only two 12''s).

Stakka Bo - Great Blondino CDS (1995)

This is the first single taken from The Great Blondino, the second album by swedish producer and songwriter Jonas van der Burg AKA Stakka Bo. Following his relatively successful debut Supermarket; the album sparkling with fresh sound and cool lyrics soon became his best-selling piece of work. This single also contains great remixes by St. Etienne, Monkey Mafia and Lucky People Center.

Coldcut - Dreamer CDS (1993)

This housey single comes from the forgotten album Philosophy released on Arista and later also on Coldcut's own label Ninja Tune. Perhaps the only memorable track from this pre-Ninja era is Sign which found it's way to many trip hop compilations.

Naomi Campbell - Love And Tears CDS (1994)

In 1994 Naomi decided to step off the catwalk for a while to show the world she's more than skin and legs. A couple of singles and an album Baby Woman (with awesome image of the model shaving her legs on the cover) is all that's left. Love And Tears shows clearly that her talent is definitely somewhere else. My promo copy came without that sticker and I'll tell ya there's nothing to see underneath. Anyway the package also contained a luxurious towel with her name on it. That's entertainment!
