Harold Budd - The Room (2000)

Although I trully love The Pearl and The Plateaux Of Mirror, if I had to pick just one Harold Budd album, it would be The Room, imho the best of his electronic works. I remember having dreams of abstract geometric shapes when I used to fall asleep to The Room.

But really, Harold doesn't make bad albums. Ever try "The Moon & The Melodies"? "Lovely Thunder" is another gem. So too is "The White Arcades". I do like "La Bella Vista" & "Avalon Sutra" as well.

That you don't include "The White Arcades" in your list has me dumfounded & befuddled. The same applies to the "Moon & The Melodies" & "Lovely Thunder".

Yo J Thyme!

Good to see you on the spot. Missed your comments since The CTI Never Sleeps days!

We could talk Budd for hours and still come to nothing. The guy is so old and made so much music there's surely enough for every taste. Sometimes I like his work with Cocteaus, sometimes his solo piano but The Room has some meditative quality, no big producers no guests, just an old guy and the desert. Btw I really enjoyed his recent work with Clive Wright.

stay tuned!
