System 7 - Point 3 Water Album (1994)

Steve Hillage & Miquette Giraudy AKA System 7 released their 3rd album Point 3 in two parts, trancey Fire and ambient Water. The Water part contains mixture of electronic soundscapes and cheesy prog guitar and was co-produced by long line of collaborators including Derrick May, Youth, Lol Hammond and members of Juno Reactor and Drum Club.

Echo System - Headland (1996 Deviant)

I was about to throw in some old em:t releases, but then I found this great blog which doesn't leave much to be said on that matter. Instead, here's another ambient gem, Headland by Echo System, released in 1996 on Deviant, the label that brought us Pentatonik.

Whale - We Care (1995 Hut)

I believe that Whale would swim unnoticed under the record companies' sonar without the influence of Bristols's enfant terrible Tricky, who co-produced this album, as terribly boring as his other projects including The Baby Namboos and Product Of Environment.

Pop Will Eat Itself - RSVP bw Familus Horribilus (1993 Infectious)

Very much in the same vein goes this double single by Pop Will Eat Itself. Another piece of tDR™-designed crap, only remarkable for the Higher Intelligence Agency ambient dub remix.

Supercharger - Saturday Night Special (1998 Indochina)

This is a typical example of an album that didn't make it past the first listening. Twelve years later it shows that I was right about it. Can't belive this came from Indochina, a label that gave us Morcheeba or The Philadelphia Bluntz. Oh, did I mention the great tDR™ cover?
